Dominique graduated from the University of Liège (Belgium). She did a radiology residency at Davis, University of California and stayed on for another year as lecturer. She is diplomate of the American college of veterinary radiology and the European college of diagnostic imaging. She obtained her PhD from the University of Liège in 1998.
In 1989, she joined the Cummings school of Tufts University and she has been a Full professor for over 20 years.
Her scholarly activities include well over 100 peer-reviewed publications, with main focus on ultrasonography, and about 90 abstracts presented at numerous meetings.
She is the co-Editor of the textbook “Atlas of Small Animal Ultrasonography”, first printed in 2008, second edition in 2015, and with the third edition in preparation.
She presented over 100 national and international presentations (several keynotes) on various diagnostic imaging topics.
She secured numerous grants supporting retrospective and prospective clinical research studies, most of them on digestive disorders (GI, liver,pancreas). She also has a special interest in developing novel pedagogic means to improve ultrasound teaching.
