Dr. Benoît Cuq is an Assistant Professor at the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.
Benoît was appointed in 2019 and tenured in 2020. After graduating from of the National Veterinary School of Toulouse (France), Benoît trained for one year as Clinical Pathology Specialty Intern in Toulouse, earning the French certificate in Clinical Pathology. He then moved to Canada and underwent two rotating internships at the Université de Montréal and then the Ontario Veterinary College. Benoît subsequently completed a Small Animal Internal Medicine Residency (2014-2017) as well as a PhD in Pathobiology (2016-2022) at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph. Benoît is a Board Certified Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist obtaining the diploma of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Dipl. ACVIM-SAIM) and the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (DipECVIM-CA). Benoît is an American, European (EBVS), Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI) and Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) recognised
Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
Prior to his appointment in UCD, Benoît worked as a clinician at the Ontario Veterinary College and the Université de Montréal as well as in private practices in Ontario, Quebec and England. His areas of interest include haematological and immune-mediated disorders, bone marrow diseases as well as urology/nephrology and interventional radiology in companion animals. Benoît is an active member of the American and European societies of veterinary nephrology and urology (ASVNU and ESVNU) as well as the Veterinary Interventional Radiology and Interventional Endoscopy Society (VIRIES).
