The GDIVET Veterinary Dietology Group was born in 2020 with the main purpose of providing Veterinarians with an advanced continuing education level in the field of Small Animal Nutrition, Clinical Dietetics and Pet Food Technology.
The group is addressed exclusively to Veterinarians enrolled in professional associations who deal with Nutrition, Clinical Dietetics and Pet Food Technology in their daily practice.
The initiative was born at the same time to define, strengthen and support the figure of the Veterinary Clinical Nutritionist in consideration of the progress of knowledge on the subject and of the social context in which the modern Veterinarian operates.
Training and practical-application events are offered at UNISVET in Milan and / or in the form of interactive webinars, during which participants will be able to actively discuss in the management of clinical cases and in the development of specific diet plans, under the supervision of a tutor.
These meetings will therefore provide knowledge on the correct nutritional approach and on the correct internal management of the patient according to the most recent scientific literature and will also be opportunities for exchange, growth and professional updating among the member.
We also propose free online Journal Club meetings, on a monthly basis, in which scientific papers will be discussed among the members of the group in order to maintain a constant level of professional continuing education.
At the end of each meeting, a certificate of attendance will be issued to guarantee the member a constant update of the individual CPD portfolio on Small Animal Nutrition, Clinical Dietetics and Pet Food Technology.
The application for GDIVET registration is open to colleagues who have obtained the Executive Master in Nutrition, Dietetics and Pet Food Technology or other training courses deemed equivalent.
Acceptance of the application is subject to the evaluation by the Committee of the level gained in terms of training and experience, drawn up in self-certification on CV.
Below you can download the document containing the evaluation criteria for registration requests to guarantee transparency and in order to standardize the level of preparation of the participant
When applying for registration, the candidate must indicate at least two topics of interest to be developed during the workshops, together with the proposal of the relative tutor.
The next activities will be the result of what was proposed to UNISVET by the members of the group and by the GDIVET coordinators. See you soon!
A presto!
