Si laurea presso l’Università degli Studi di Parma nel 2005. Subito dopo la laurea inizia a lavorare in strutture private sviluppando da subito particolare interesse per l’anestesiologia. Nel 2012 svolge un internship in anestesia presso l’Università di Liverpool; tra il 2015 ed il 2018 svolge e conclude il percorso di Residency dell’European e American College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia presso la stessa Università. Nel 2017 ottiene il Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice in Veterinary Anaesthesia, nel 2018 diventa Diplomata all European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) e nel 2019 ottiene lo stesso Diploma per il college americano (ACVAA). Attualmente è responsabile dell’unità operativa di Anestesia della Clinica Veterinaria Malpensa. È autrice di diverse pubblicazioni su riviste internazionali e reviewer per riviste di settore.

Kathy Murphy is a veterinarian, neuroscientist and dog
behaviour enthusiast, who focusses her career on working to improve and support
animal welfare and ethical practice. She gained her veterinary degree in
1999 from the Royal Veterinary College, two further post graduate
qualifications from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and her PhD in
Behavioural Neuroscience from the Department of Experimental Psychology,
University Oxford, UK after realising that to really understand the clinical
questions she faced, she needed to understand how the brain worked. She
has worked in clinical practice and research institutions in the UK and USA, is
the founder of Barking Brains (an outreach project making neuroscience
accessible for the training and behaviour community), she is a founding member
of Ethics First (a collective raising the awareness of developing ethical
issues in modern day veterinary practice), sits on several International
advisory boards and working groups, and is a past trustee and veterinary
advisor for the Rottweiler Welfare Association.

Laureato a Padova con lode, ha completato un residency in anestesia veterinaria all’Animal Health Trust a Newmarket. Ha conseguito il Diploma Europeo in Anestesia ed Analgesia Veterinaria nel 2003, e un PhD presso la facoltà di Medicina di Cambridge nel 2011. Ha lavorato come ricercatore confermato presso la Facoltà di Medicina Veterinaria dell’Università di Padova, anestesista clinico all’Animal Health Trust e Clinical Research Fellow presso il dipartimento di Anestesia dell’Università di Cambridge (Facoltà di medicina). Dal 2008 lavora coordina il servizio di anestesia del centro di referenza Dick White Referrals. È stato presidente di SIATAV, ed è past president del College Europeo di Anestesia Veterinaria e coordinatore del gruppo di studio di anestesia Veterinaria all’interno di SIAARTI.
Louise is a European and Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons recognised Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. Shewas awarded her Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia in 2003 following a residency at the University of EdinburghR(D)SVS. She was then part of a large Anaesthesia/critical care team at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket before moving toDavies Veterinary Specialists in Hertfordshire to Head the Anaesthesia team in 2007. In 2014 Louise was awarded an MSc(Distinction) in the Clinical Management of Pain from Edinburgh University. She is currently Past President of the Pain MedicineSection Council at the Royal Society of Medicine and has been an invited examiner on the European Diploma examination and aTreasurer of the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists.She is involved with charitable work in the developing world to improve the welfare and management of dogs undergoinganaesthesia in resource poor settings,
