Dr. Tina Meichner obtained her board-certification in medical oncology (DECVIM) at the Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich, Germany and in clinical pathology (DACVP) at the North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. She currently works as Assistant Professor at the Department of Pathology, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia, USA. Her research interests focus on immunology and canine cancer, especially the characterization of canine hematopoietic tumors and the investigation of alternative treatment strategies. Dr. Meichner is an active member of several groups whose goals are to establish consensus recommendations for the usage of clinical flow cytometry and to establish a standardized approach for interpretation of bone marrow samples in companion animals.
