Il corso propone un percorso completo ed esaustivo relativo ai vari aspetti della Neurochirurgia Veterinaria, attraverso una combinazione di lezioni teoriche e sessioni pratiche.

DVM, Dr. Med. Vet., Dipl. ECVN, PhD, MRCVS Relatore
Laureata in Medicina Veterinaria presso l'Università di Parma, dopo vari anni in Italia dedicati alla libera professione, ha effettuato un Residency presso l'Università di Berna conseguendo il Diploma del College Europeo di Neurologia Veterinaria (DECVN). Dal 2013 svolge attività di ricerca presso la “Graduate School for Cellular and Biomedical Sciences” ed il “Neurocenter” di Berna nel campo delle neuroscienze e lavora come Ober-Assistant presso l’ospedale didattico della stessa Facoltà. In UK dal 2017, diventa responsabile della sezione di neurologia neurochirurgia del centro di referenza Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists. Dal 2018 ricopre il ruolo di Senior Neurologist presso l’ospedale didattico veterinario universitario della facolta’ di Bristol (Langford Vets ltd.) dove svolge attivita’ clinica, di docenza, ricerca e ha ricoperto la carica di Chair del comitato scientifico del College Europeo di Neurologia Veterinaria per gli ultimi quattro anni. Autrice di pubblicazioni su riviste internazionali e relatrice a congressi nazionali e internazionali. È interessata a tutti gli aspetti della neurologia, i suoi principali campi di interesse sono i modelli per lo studio delle malattie infiammatorie del sistema nervoso e l’ innovazione tecnologica in ambito neurochirurgico.

Nicolas Granger
DVM, PhD, Dipl. ECVN, FHEA, FRCVS Relatore
Nicolas received his veterinary degree from the National Veterinary School of Alfort, France, in 2002, where he completed an internship and his neurology and neurosurgery training to become a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Neurology in 2006. He ran the neurology and neurosurgery service at the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital, University of Cambridge until 2008 and obtained a PhD in neuroscience in 2012 there. He continued his research and teaching as Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol from 2012 to 2016. He now works as a clinical neurologist at Bristol Veterinary Specialists (Highcroft referrals) part of CVS referrals, where he provides state-of-the art diagnostics and treatments for companion animals with neurological conditions. Nicolas is Senior Research Fellow at the Royal Veterinary College, where his research is based. His main interest and research focus on treatments for spinal cord injury in dogs, including transplantation of cells for spinal cord regeneration and repair, clinical trials for new therapies, and neuromodulation for incontinence control. Nicolas offers unique procedures, such as implantation of sacral neuroprosthese for incontinence control, urodynamics, and also hypophysectomy in dogs and cats.

François-Xavier Liebel
DVM, Dipl. ECVN, MRCVS, RCVS and European Specialist in Veterinary Neurology Relatore
Francois graduated from the National Veterinary School of Toulouse, France, in 2008. After a brief period in general practice in France, he completed a one-year rotating internship at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in the United States. From 2010 to 2016, he worked as a neurology clinician at a private referral practice in Hertfordshire, UK, and became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Neurologists (ECVN) in 2013. He later joined a large referral hospital near London, followed by a position at the University of Bristol (Langford Vets). In 2025, he co-founded Vet Neuro Specialists®, an online veterinary neurology and neurosurgery consultancy, and relocated to Switzerland, where he currently works in a referral center near Lake Geneva. His clinical interests cover all aspects of veterinary neurology, with a particular focus on the diagnosis and surgical management of brain and spinal tumors.

Lorenzo Mari
DVM, Dipl. ECVN, MRCVS Relatore
Lorenzo graduated with honours at the University of Veterinary Medicine of Milan in October 2010. After working a few months as a general practitioner in Italy he moved to UK where he completed a 2 month externship followed by a one year general internship at the VRCC Veterinary Referrals (now Southfields Veterinary Specialist). In 2013 Lorenzo moved to the Animal Health Trust where he started a neurology internship followed by a 3 year ECVN approved residency programme in Neurology and Neurosurgery. After successfully passing his examination in October 2018 Lorenzo became ECVN diplomate and subsequently EBVS and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Neurology. Between 2019 and 2022 Lorenzo worked in multiple veterinary referral centres including Wear Referrals Veterinary Hospital and North Downs Specialist Referrals in UK and the Istituto Veterinario di Novara in Italy. Since June 2022 he is head of the neurology and neurosurgery department at The Ralph Veterinary Referral Centre in Marlow, near London. Lorenzo is speaker at international congresses and first author and co-author of numerous papers published on peer-reviewed journals.
