Laurent Findji
DMV, MS, MRCVS, Dipl. ECVS Instructor
Laurent graduated from Paris’ vet school, the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d’Alfort, in France in 1995 and was assistant instructor in the anatomy department the following year. He then qualified for a 2-year surgical internship in the same school and later completed a Master of Science in Biology and Physiology of Circulation and Respiration, as well as a university degree in Experimental Surgery and Microsurgery. After having worked for 3 years in a large private practice outside Paris, he spent 4 years at the Centre Hospitalier Vétérinaire Frégis, near Paris, where he completed an ECVS residency. He became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2008 and was recognised as a specialist in small animal surgery by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2012. Laurent was a senior surgeon and director both at VRCC Veterinary Referrals in Essex from 2006 to 2014 and at Fitzpatrick Referrals Oncology and Soft Tissue in Surrey from 2014 to 2022. He currently is a senior surgeon and director at AURA Veterinary in Surrey, UK. His fields of interest include oncologic, reconstructive and general soft tissue surgeries.

Jonathan Bray
MVSc, MSc(ClinOnc) PhD, MACVSc, MRCVS, Dipl. ECVS Instructor
Dr Jonathan Bray graduated from Massey University, New Zealand in 1988 and completed specialist training in Soft Tissue Surgery at Cambridge University, UK, becoming a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1997. He gained a Masters degree in Veterinary Science in 1990, and a Masters degree in Clinical Oncology in 2013. Jonathan has spent periods of time in both academia and private referral practice since completing his residency, including positions as Head of Oncology and Soft Tissue Surgery at Davies Veterinary Specialists, Hertfordshire (2004-2010), and Head of the Companion Animal Group at Massey University (2012-2017). Jonathan is a Senior Clinician and Director at AURA Veterinary.

Gerard McLauchlan
BVMS, Dipl. ECVIM-CA, MRCVS, FHEA Instructor
Gerard is a European and Royal College Recognised Specialist in Internal Medicine. He was a Senior Lecturer in Internal Medicine at the University of Glasgow before completing 12 months training in Interventional Radiology at the Animal Medical Center in New York. He is one of only a handful of Specialists in the world to have undertaken this level of advanced training. He has lectured nationally and internationally in the field of Internal Medicine and Interventional Radiology/Oncology. Gerard is a Senior Clinician and Director at AURA Veterinary. His clinical interests focus on minimally invasive interventional radiology/oncology/endoscopy.

Nicholas J. Bacon

Nick qualified from Cambridge Vet School and after two years in general practice returned to Cambridge as the PetSaver’s resident in Soft Tissue Surgery and Oncology. He spent two years in soft tissue referral practice in the UK before completing a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University. He then spent 9 years as Surgical Oncology Faculty at the University of Florida in the Oncology department, becoming Head of Oncology in 2011. Nick moved back to the UK in 2014 and was appointed Professor of Surgical Oncology at the University of Surrey School of Veterinary Medicine and co-founded what is now AURA Veterinary, also in Guildford, Surrey. He is a Diplomate of the European and American Colleges of Veterinary Surgeons, a Past-President of the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncology, an ACVS Founding Fellow of Surgical Oncology, and is the only surgeon working in the UK to have completed a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology. Nick is Clinical Director of AURA Veterinary, a world-renowned centre for excellence in oncology, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine and interventional radiology, treating patients from across the UK and Europe.
