Certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (clinical pathology). She received her DVM from Purdue University (1976) and spent 6 years as a small animal practitioner in New Jersey, USA before attending Michigan State University for residency training (anatomic and clinical pathology) and doctoral research in pathology. As an educator, she taught at Michigan State University, University of Florida, and recently Purdue University before retiring in 2014 as Professor Emerita. She continues to provide diagnostic service as a visiting professor for the University of Florida. Since 2014, Dr. Raskin has assisted in diagnostic service as needed (TDDS, RVC, and SpecialtyVetpath). Dr. Raskin is co-editor of Canine and Feline Cytology. A Color Atlas and Interpretation, now in its 3rd edition. She is past-president of American Society for Veterinary Clinical Pathology. Dr. Raskin has 60 peer-reviewed publications, 36 book chapters, and given over 250 presentations. Research interests involve cytology and comparative hematology.
