Certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (clinical pathology). She received her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania (1988), which was following by a residency in clinical pathology and doctoral research at The Ohio State University. Over the past 20 or so years, she’s been on faculty at three academic institutions including University of Illinois, Cornell University and finally coming in for a landing at Purdue University. Joanne has been a member of the American Society for Veterinary Clinical Pathology since 1988, serving on many committees, as well as being on the executive board and presiding as the Society’s president in 2010. She’s been the guest editor for two (2003 & 2012) editions of The Veterinary Clinics of North American, Small Animal Practice, Symposium on Hematology and section editor for “The Erythrocyte” in Schalm’s Veterinary Hematology.
